About The Columbus Promise

The Columbus Promise is a pilot program for Columbus City Schools’ graduates in the classes of 2022, 2023, and 2024. The Columbus Promise Scholarship covers tuition and fees to Columbus State Community College after the Pell grant (if eligible) and any tuition-restricted scholarship(s). An additional $500 per semester for educational expenses, up to six semesters, is also included. Additionally, Columbus Promise Scholars receive exclusive advising and support to develop skills, behaviors, and habits that contribute to success in and beyond college.

Renewing the Columbus Promise Scholarship

The Columbus Promise Scholarship is renewable for up to six semesters. To maintain eligibility, Columbus Promise Scholars must be enrolled in a minimum of nine (9) credit hours that apply toward a Federal Aid-eligible degree or certificate, maintain continuous enrollment in Autumn and Spring semesters (summer enrollment is optional), continue to meet the standards of Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) each semester, and complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and any additional documents required by the financial aid process each academic year. Furthermore, students are required to communicate individually with their Columbus Promise Advisor and develop their plan for success as Columbus Promise Scholars.
